The Kinks’ Dave Davies enjoys sharing unknown stories about his career with the fans during Q&A sessions on X. In a recent episode of his fan interactions, Dave responded to a fan wondering whether a myth related to Keith Moon and his Carmen Miranda impression was true or not.

The Kinks fan wanted to know if The Who drummer really dressed like Miranda and trolled Dave Davies. The fan asked:

“Dave, love how you give us the real story behind these rock myths.  I also heard that Keith Moon once showed up at your flat dressed as Carmen Miranda with coconuts on his tits.  Please tell me that one is actually true.”

Davies responded to the question by confirming the story was true and Moon did visit him at his house by wearing a Hawaiian beach woman costume. The musician explained:

“That story is true but don’t ask me where it was. Keith Moon had a pair of tits that were coconuts He was dressed like a Hawaiian beach woman. He didn’t have to dress like that He only did it for fun.”

Dave Reveals Another Truth About Jimmy Page

This wasn’t the first time Davies revealed the truth behind the most famous myths about the rock and metal music industry. Previously, during another conversation with The Kinks fans, Dave talked about Jimmy Page’s rumored contribution to ‘You Really Got Me.’ He confirmed the Led Zeppelin guitarist wasn’t involved in the song by stating:

“Jimmy Page is a good guy, but he never played on ‘You Really Got Me.’ I played my distorted guitar on [Singing] ‘You Really Got Me.’”

As for the Kinks fans who have been waiting for reunion news, Ray Davies recently said he didn’t have any plans to make new music with his brother. However, the two are on good terms as he confirmed during an interview with The Times Newspaper.
