Ray Davies has disclosed that he and his brother, after years of feuding, have rekindled communication through the Internet.
Currently residing on different continents, with Ray in London and Dave in the US, the brothers have now reconciled. In a recent interview with The Times Newspaper, Ray shared:
“Well, he lives in New Jersey and I live in north London, but the Internet pulls us together. The band though, it’s like family. You argue a lot and you fight, but you love each other really. It was always us against the world.”
Well, what about a reunion? Ray Davies rejected any plans for the future with the following:
“As for recording again, as for performing again? We’ll never be the Kinks we were, but we never really break up.”
Isn’t A Reunion Possible?

Despite the latest statement, in earlier interviews, both brothers have revealed that they are open to doing a reunion project and have even worked on some new tracks together, but no definitive plans have been announced to date.
The two brothers had also stated numerous times that they wouldn’t be back for a reunion. However, Ray Davies expressed openness to the idea of a reunion concert, but with a condition. He stated that he would only be interested if a show could be organized ‘that gives us the credit we deserve.’
In addition to that, Dave Davies stated that there were songs that had been shelved for a particular time until they were played by Davies’ brother. So, is there any new music coming? He explained:
“I don’t know, but me and Ray played on tracks that’ve been sitting around, that we didn’t quite finish and are too good to just shelve, so it’s very possible.”
So it’s possible we could have new music anytime soon.
