Glenn Hughes has revealed that legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore has become increasingly reclusive, with the musician stating that nobody can reach him anymore, according to comments shared on Rock History Music.
Hughes spoke candidly about his relationship with the former Deep Purple and Rainbow guitarist, describing both Blackmore’s character and their current lack of contact.
“Ritchie Blackmore is a great guitar player, a good man,” Hughes said. “A strange dude and eccentric as all hell. A fascinating fellow.”
The bassist and vocalist went on to explain the current situation regarding Blackmore’s accessibility.
“I got along really well with him, but we haven’t seen each other for a long time,” he continued. “You can’t get him on the phone or you can’t see him anymore, so nobody sees Ritchie. So I send him all my love.”
The comments highlight the enigmatic nature of Blackmore, who has maintained a low public profile in recent years.
