Poison drummer Rikki Rockett has announced plans to let fans choose which songs The Rockett Mafia will perform during upcoming live shows. This was revealed in a recent interview with Iron City Rocks Podcast.

Rockett outlined his approach to selecting the setlist. He emphasized his desire to give fans what they want to hear.

“What I’m gonna do, and I was gonna do it today, actually, and maybe I still will, I was gonna take a poll on some social media platforms and literally ask fans, ‘What songs do you wanna hear?’ and choose ’em that way,” Rockett said.

The drummer explained his reasoning behind the fan-driven approach to song selection.

“I wanna give the people what they want, literally, because I love all our songs,” he continued. “I love our body of work. I like some songs better than other ones, of course, but there’s nothing I hate. So if the fans really wanna hear something, I’ve got no problem playing it.”

The Rockett Mafia is set to tour in 2025. The final setlist will be determined by fan input through social media polling.

This fan-driven approach reflects Rockett’s deep connection to Poison’s extensive catalog. It also shows his commitment to delivering what audiences want to hear most.

Toca Percussion reported that Rockett is the original and current drummer of Poison, a band formed in 1983 that has sold over 40 million records worldwide. The band has charted ten Top 40 Billboard Hot 100 singles, including six Top 10s and one number-one hit. The band’s commercial success provides Rockett with a substantial repertoire of fan favorites to choose from for The Rockett Mafia performances.

Rockett has explored other musical ventures beyond his work with Poison. These demonstrate his versatility as a performer. Toca Percussion noted that he co-founded The Devil City Angels, which released their debut album in 2015. This showcases his ability to adapt his drumming style to different musical contexts.

The drummer’s connection with fans dates back to Poison’s early days. During this time, the band was developing their signature sound and stage presence. Glide Magazine documented that Rockett spent years playing clubs and fire halls alongside lead singer Bret Michaels. This built the foundation for what would become one of the most successful glam metal bands of the 1980s.

This extensive history with live audiences likely influences Rockett’s decision to let fans directly shape The Rockett Mafia’s setlists. This ensures that the performances will feature the songs that resonate most strongly with longtime supporters of his musical career.
