Rick Allen Pays Tribute To The Rolling Stones’ ‘Saint’ Charlie Watts In His New Artwork

Def Leppard shared a recent Instagram post on their official account in which they revealed that their drummer Rick Allen honored ‘Saint’ Charlie Watts in his art piece.

Back in 2004, Charlie Watts was diagnosed with throat cancer and started receiving radiotherapy. After a while, his cancer went into remission, and the drummer recovered. In August 2021, he underwent an unspecified medical procedure and missed The Rolling Stones’ No Filter Tour. Sadly, on August 24, Watts departed from this world.

Recently, Rick Allen and his Raven Drum Foundation have joined 12 Drummers Drumming to hold an auction. The auction started on November 11 and will end on November 22, and it focuses on raising money to provide trauma recovery for veterans to help reduce suicide rates.

As it seems, Rick Allen also contributed to the auction, besides several renowned drummers, with his art pieces. Among his artworks, such as the one named ‘Wings Of Hope,’ there was also one which he created in honor of Charlie Watts. Def Leppard’s Instagram account announced this news with a video in their recent post.

In the post, Def Leppard gave the details of the auction and introduced the drummers who joined for this good cause. According to the post, the auction will last for 12 days, and there are some exclusive autographed items and other collectibles included. Besides, the band also included a video of Allen talking about the auction in the post.

Def Leppard’s Instagram post read:
