In a clip from the new Razorlight documentary ‘Fall To Pieces,’ frontman Johnny Borrell recalled when Dave Grohl asked him to punch him in the face.

In the clip, Borrell sits in a car while talking about his encounter with Grohl. “Yeah, I punched Dave Grohl in the face, yeah. But it was only because he asked me to! He was going, ‘Come on man, don’t you f*cking British rockers, you’re so gay, punch me!’ And that was his game, he used to like doing shots and then just like hitting each other in the moosh.”

The singer also pointed out that there was no bad blood between the two, and that Grohl was a kind person. “He was nice, Dave Grohl was a very kind person actually, as far as my interactions with him went.”

Razorlight and Foo Fighters played together on December 10, 2005, at a big outdoor show at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium. Oasis headlined, and The Coral and The Subways also performed.

‘Fall To Pieces’ premiered at the Raindance Film Festival in 2022 and will be released commercially in early 2025. Directed by Ben Lowe, it’s named after the band’s 2006 single ‘Before I Fall To Pieces,’ and focuses on the relationship between Borrell and Burrows, covering their early years and the 2021 reunion.
