Randy Blythe shared with Full Metal Jackie what he thinks about Kerry King opening for Lamb of God.
The vocalist revealed that he heard some parts of King’s new music with his solo band and continued:
“We have a long-term friendship with Kerry and the Slayer guys. Of course, now it’s him and [Slayer drummer Paul] Bostaph [who are involved in King’s solo band]. We’re friends with everyone in his band, and it’s pretty cool, I think, that he’s gonna be coming out. I believe this is gonna be the first tour he’s gonna be doing. I know he’s doing some festivals maybe before that, I think, but this is gonna be the first tour, to my knowledge. So we’re pretty stoked on that.”
Lamb Of God Will Tour With Kerry

Blythe spoke more on their upcoming tour with King’s band:
“We’ve played all over the world with Kerry when he was in Slayer. So, for us, it’s pretty special to have him out on the road with us on his first run. And, of course, all the other dudes in the band; we know everyone. And the [fellow support band] Malevolence guys are great as well. And then, of course, we’ve been friends with Mastodon for well over 20 years. So it’s a great time.”
King’s New Album Is On The Way

In July and August, Lamb of God and Mastodon will tour together to play their entire 2004 albums ‘Ashes of the Wake’ and ‘Leviathan.’ Kerry’s solo band and Malevolence will open for them. During the tour, the guitarist will promote his upcoming record ‘From Hell I Rise.’ He previously said the album is similar to Slayer’s sound:
“It was very similar. First and foremost, I wrote most of the last Slayer record, so people know what I sound like, people know how I write. This one I did one-hundred percent of, so if youve ever liked anything I’ve done in the past, there’s going to be something you’re going to like on this one, if not the whole thing. I love the whole thing.”
The album features Mark Osegueda on vocals. Last month, the singer described the record as a ‘beast’ and shared they are very excited about it. ‘From Hell I Rise’ will arrive on May 17. The first single from the record, ‘Idle Hands’ dropped on February 5, and the second single ‘Residue’ on April 12. The band will start touring in May.
