Power Trip is back after four years, and Riley Gale’s cause of death has finally been revealed.
Riley Gale, the frontman of the Texas thrash metal band Power Trip, passed away in August 2020 at the age of 34. The band had already been inactive when the frontman’s passing occurred.
Recently on February 20th, the band announced their first official performance in four years. The show is scheduled to take place at the newly-established No Values fest in Pomona, California, on June 8th. The lineup features other notable bands such as the Misfits, Dillinger Escape Plan, Turnstile, and various other punk and hardcore veterans.
Who Is The New Vocalist?

In a related statement discussing the future of Power Trip, the surviving members of the band – guitarists Blake Ibanez and Nick Stewart, bassist Chris Whetzel, and drummer Chris Ulsh – disclosed that Seth Gilmore, frontman of Ibanez’s side project Fugitive and member of the Texas hardcore unit Skourge, will be stepping into Riley Gale’s position as the vocalist for all upcoming shows.
What’s The Cause Of Death?

Rolling Stone has now reported that Gale’s cause of death. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office has confirmed to Rolling Stone that the manner of death was ruled as accidental overdose from the ‘toxic effects’ of fentanyl.
