Perry Farrell Accepts DaBaby’s Apology After His Homophobic Remarks

Jane’s Addiction Perry Farrell posted DaBaby’s apology on Twitter and stated that he accepts his apology for uttering homophobic words during his recent concert.

As you may know, DaBaby had made homophobic remarks at a concert when he told his fans who haven’t got AIDS, HIV, or any sexually transmitted diseases to put their flashlights up in the air. This led to DaBaby being highly criticized on social media not only by his fans but also by celebrities.

Perry Farrell was not among those celebrities who slammed him. Instead, Farrell stated that he believes in forgiveness and that he should learn to be better without all the hurtful words being thrown at him. As he adopted a different approach than the rest of the world, even his fans were shocked at his reaction. However, he didn’t back away from his words and shared DaBaby’s recent apology on his own Twitter account.

In the apology, DaBaby states that the internet moves very fast and that nobody allowed him to explain, grow or learn. He admitted his ignorance on various topics and stated that he was open for education. He also thanked those people who warned him privately instead of lynching him in public.

This is what he said in his apology:

“Social media moves so fast that people want to demolish you before you even have the opportunity to grow, educate, and learn from your mistakes. As a man who has had to make his own way from very difficult circumstances, having people I know publicly working against me— knowing that what I needed was an education on these topics and guidance— has been challenging. I appreciate the many people who came to me with kindness, who reached out to me privately to offer wisdom, education, and resources. That’s what I needed and it was received.

I want to apologise to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologise for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I know education on this is important. Love to all. God bless.

This apology and the fact that he embraced his mistake were considered sincere by Farrell. The rockstar stated that he is confident that DaBaby truly regrets his words and that we should all learn to forgive for growth.

Here is is his full tweet:

I for one accept Da Baby’s apology. I hope we can all find it in our hearts too. He said something he truly regrets (can not count my amount). Now is a great time to forgive those that understand their transgressions (those that could never find the words will soon be obsolete).”

Farrell’s fans are divided and they cannot decide whether or not they should continue being angry at DaBaby’s offensive words or forgive him. The people who are in favor of forgiving him said that without forgiveness, people who make mistakes will never get the opportunity to change.
