Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has shared a message with fans as the return of the Carnival of Sins tour comes to an end. He posted the statement on Facebook. In it, he reflects on the tour and what comes next for the band.
Sixx first described settling back into home life after the tour.
“Starting to settle back into home life, and damn, it feels good,” Sixx said. “No tours or shows on the horizon for a while, which means I get to trade airports, tour buses, dressing rooms and questionable catering for family time, creative time and sleeping in my own bed. Not a bad deal.”
He then looked back on the summer run of shows.
“What a f*cking fun summer,” he continued. “We laughed, played loud, made some great memories and somehow survived another trip inside the rock ‘n’ roll circus.”
Sixx also said he plans to focus on writing, creating and spending time with his family.
“Now it’s time to recharge, get back to writing and creating, and most importantly, be home with my family,” he said. “Turns out balance isn’t such a terrible idea after all. Who knew? Only took me 45 years to figure that one out.”
He ended by thanking the band’s fans.
“And to all the Crue Heads who showed up night after night—thank you,” Sixx said. “You brought the energy, the noise and the love like you always do. We never take that for granted. Best fans in the world. See ya down the road hopefully. One thing about Motley Crue is you never know what’s next.”
The statement comes after the end of the tour. Sixx did not announce any new shows or projects.
His comments close a busy chapter for the band. The tour covered a lot of ground this summer. Its scale helps explain why Sixx is ready for a break.
The Return of the Carnival of Sins tour opened on July 17 at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. The run covered 33 cities across the United States and Canada. It wrapped on September 26 at the Cascades Amphitheater in Ridgefield, Washington.
The tour paid tribute to the band’s 2005–2006 Carnival of Sins run. That earlier tour became one of the most celebrated live productions in Mötley Crüe’s career.
The current lineup features vocalist Vince Neil, guitarist John 5, bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee. The group returned to the road in July after its 2025 Las Vegas residency.
The tour also marked the band’s 45th anniversary. Lee and Sixx formed Mötley Crüe in 1981, which fits the “45 years” Sixx mentioned in his statement.
