There are several famous metalheads who are big fans of Ghost. Well, a new one has been added to the list, and he is no other than Pantera lead vocalist Phil Anselmo. The musician sat down with Revolver magazine to share his favorite track of the chart-topping band.

Anselmo has been busier than ever with reuniting Pantera and preparing for the live shows, the first of which took place at the Hell & Heaven Metal Fest in Mexico. Still, the singer took the opportunity to spread the love that his band has received over the past few months to share his pick of the best Ghost track.

“I hate to be ‘the dude’ to be ‘old school’ here,” said the frontman jokingly, signaling that his favorite track might look a bit pretentious to those who prefer Ghost’s more popular tracks. “But I’m going to roll with ‘Ritual’ off the first Ghost LP.”

He continued, “The sounds are massive, the hooks are massive, and the performances are stellar. Plus, add in the blunt lyrical attack, and — boom! — we have a crushing hit on our hands. Got to love Ghost and their odes to Lucifer; you do.”

Although Anselmo’s pick is one that original fans of Ghost would be familiar with, it is more of an old-school classic. Besides Ghost’s first LP, it would be a sin to brush over their latest album, ‘Impera,’ which took over the metal scene ever since its release. The archives are a must-listen too, but if you haven’t had the chance to listen to their latest work, you should get on that!
