As we approach the premiere of  ‘Pamela, A Love Story,’ Pamela Anderson’s love affair with Tommy Lee has been on the public’s radar again. Speaking to Howard Stern in a recent podcast episode, Pamela looked back on her relationship with the Mötley Crüe drummer and talked about what marrying Kid Rock made her feel like after Lee.

“I had two beautiful boys with him,” said Pamela Anderson when asked about her relationship with Tommy Lee. “It was really a heightened kind of romantic beginning. That’s every girl’s fantasy to be worshiped like that, and we worshipped each other. We had two beautiful boys.”

Howard Stern then wondered whether their relationship was real romantic love. “Well, I always felt romantic love might not be sustainable,” Pamela responded. “So, if you want to have that love affair, it will have a season. It will not last forever, but that’s only my experience. I mean, I’m sure some people have these loving relationships forever. I don’t think I ever gave myself a chance to have another relationship after that that was of any value.”

She continued, “It was more like trying to put a family unit back together, but I wasn’t really in love. I was going through the motions and then realizing, ‘I have nothing in common with this person,’ like, ‘There’s just nothing like I had with Tommy.’ It was just more stuff to bring me down. I was putting people in my life to numb some of the pain, to be with someone or companionship. But nothing. Nothing healthy.”

After Pamela Anderson’s remarks, Stern asked her about the moment she realized it was a mistake. “Right when I got married,” Pamela said without hesitation. When Howard asked whether it was during the ceremony, she said, “Well, just after. It’s terrible; I know it’s embarrassing. It’s just a flaw. I feel like I just jumped into something because Tommy and I did. We had this incredible connection. But then you jump into something, and it’s like, ‘Oh, it’s not this incredible connection; it’s just something else.’ Then I slowly tried to find my way out.”

“I tried,” Pamela said, admitting she tried to work things out with Kid Rock. “But I think I detach a little bit, and that’s what made people a little crazy. Any sign of violence, disrespect, or lying is my excuse to leave. It always comes down to that, like someone’s breaking things, screaming, or something like that. I can’t take that. Then I got out of it; ran for the hills.”

“This last year,” she said, “I’ve been alone, and it’s been a really incredible year for me to go through, look back, and reflect on everything. So, it’s been good. I mean, you have to be able to be alone, too, before you can be with somebody else. So, I feel like I’m just growing up right now. It’s taken a long time.”

Although the sex tape incident and Tommy Lee’s approach were traumatizing for her, Pamela Anderson still calls Lee the love of her life. Pam felt she had found true love throughout their relationship, but it seems like true love can also come to an end. After their divorce in 1998, she married Kid Rock but apparently couldn’t find what she found in Tommy Lee. Now, she doesn’t hesitate to call her marriage with Kid Rock a terrible mistake.
