Ozzy Osbourne Recalls Experiencing Beatlemania Due To Their Reality Show

The reality show world is a vast market where many actors, musicians, and even those who want to have a significant other gain recognition. Since many people love Ozzy Osbourne, it immediately became a hit when his family’s reality tv show aired. Though they succeeded, there was the flip side, as this great attention harmed the Osbournes. Regardless, the family is bringing the show back, and Ozzy recently talked about this.
“I don’t know how the Kardashians have done it for so long,” said the Prince of Darkness to Mirror. “It sent us crazy at the end.” He later admitted that there were no regrets about doing the show, but it overwhelmed the family after many years, which was concerning. Ozzy shared, “I am not sorry I did it, but after three or four years, I said, ‘Do you know what, we’re going to lose somebody because it is getting too crazy.’”
Furthermore, Ozzy Osbourne said ‘The Osbournes’ attracted more attention than his career as a rock and metal icon. The singer noted, “There is rock and roll fame, which is pretty intense, but that Osbourne level was just unbelievable.” This fame took its toll on their children, “The kids paid for it. They all ended up doing drugs. Jack got clean and sober on that show, Kelly messed up on that show, I was messed up, and Sharon got cancer.”
“I always wanted to know what it would have been like when Beatlemania was around,” said the rocker. He then compared their popularity around ‘The Osbournes’ to Beatlemania, “I had that with the Osbournes, let me tell you. I remember going into McDonald’s for a pee. When I came out of the bathroom, the whole restaurant was outside screaming at me.”
In the past, Osbourne said, “On the one hand, it was phenomenal. On the other hand, I had to watch my family suffer.” During a 2010 interview, the musician had stated that they wouldn’t consider doing another reality show. However, the family must have changed their minds since BBC is bringing the show back with the family’s return to Britain.
‘The Osbournes’ first aired on MTV on March 5, 2002, featuring the life of Ozzy Osbourne and his family, including his wife, Sharon Osbourne, their daughter Kelly, and son Jack. Right off the bat, the first season became the most-viewed series ever on MTV. After four successful seasons, the final episode aired on March 21, 2005. While the show brought the family to the spotlight, it also harmed them.
