Ozzy Osbourne Exclaims He Hasn’t Retired Because Music Helps Him Cope

For those wondering, the Prince of Darkness won’t be retiring, and on the latest episode of SiriusXM’s ‘Ozzy Speaks,’ Ozzy Osbourne sat down with co-host Billy Morrison to discuss the latest exaggerated headlines and his current tour status.

Osbourne recently announced his retirement from touring to fans waiting to see him back on stage after many postponed dates. However, his health condition, which had been through the wringer with multiple diagnoses and surgeries, wasn’t ready to hit the road.

Although Ozzy prefaced that he was retiring from touring, media outlets took the headline and ran with the notion that he was entirely retiring from the music business. Osbourne explained in the interview that he had to give up the idea that he could go touring in his condition, but he isn’t retiring as a musician, nor is he on his last legs; making music is the only thing keeping him going.

Ozzy Osbourne’s words about not retiring:

“This f*cking press could drive you nuts. I mean, I looked in a magazine the other day, and ‘Ozzy’s on his last legs.’ I’m f*cking not dying. Come on, and guys haven’t had it bad enough already. If I get the okay today, if the doctor said to me today, ‘Oh, you can tour.’ It would take another six months to get it to go, you know?”

“You’ve got no idea. You’ve got no idea what I feel like a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest. The only thing I’ve got that keeps me going is making records, but I can’t do that forever. I have to get out there, you know? I don’t even know the f*cking…”

If Osbourne had received the green light from his doctors, he would have been back on stage for his fans and done the tour he had to postpone several times. However, it is apparent that his current status is not in the position to be taking on such a big commitment, but he’s not done with the music industry or making records, that is for sure.
