Olivia Rodrigo Responds To Courtney Love’s Accusations Of Stealing The Cover Of Hole Album
In an interview with GQ, the rockstar in the making, Olivia Rodrigo, revealed her thoughts on Courtney Love’s claims about her stealing Hole’s album cover art.
The young musician Olivia Rodrigo released her debut album ‘Sour’ on May 11, 2021. Following the release, Rodrigo also released an online, prom-themed concert film titled ‘Sour Prom’ on June 29, 2021. In the ‘Soul Prom’ photo, she was seen wearing a tiara and holding a bouquet with mascara tears on her face.
Back in June, Courtney Love accused Olivia Rodrigo of stealing the cover of Hole’s 1994 album ‘Live Through This.’ Most of the social media users agreed with Courtney Love because the covers of the two albums shared obvious similarities.
Just like ‘Soul Prom’s, ‘Live Through This’ album cover featured an image of Leilani Bishop wearing a tiara, holding a bouquet with mascara tears streaming down her cheeks. Courtney Love pointed out the resemblance on her social media accounts and told her fans to spot the differences.
In her statements, Love claimed this is rude and that she expects Rodrigo to send her some flowers. Speaking to GQ, Olivia Rodrigo recalled this incident. Talking about what happened between her and Courtney Love, Rodrigo said that she is just glad that Courtney Love knows she exists.
Olivia Rodrigo made a brief statement to GQ about the incident:
“To be honest, I’m just flattered that Courtney Love knows that I exist.”
Rodrigo has also been compared to the band Pom Pom Squad previously by the fans. Additionally, they posted a series of tweets on Twitter that pointed out the resemblance between Pom Pom Squad photoshoots and Rodrigo’s photographs.
