Oli Sykes’ Billie Eilish Comments Explained: Do Bring Me The Horizon Plan A Collab?

3 Min Read

Billie Eilish’s recent post from the 81st Golden Globe Awards stirred up rumors about a possible collaboration with the rock group Bring Me The Horizon.

After winning the Golden Globe for Best Original Song for Motion Picture with her ‘What Was I Made For,’ Eilish shared a photo with her brother Finneas on Instagram with thanks for the award.

The post caught more attention when BMTH’s Oli Sykes simply wrote ‘Sick’ under it and later dropped ‘Limousine,’ the name of a song from his band’s upcoming album ‘NeX GEn.’ This led fans to speculate about a possible collaboration with Eilish on this track.

Rumors Spread On Social Media

A glimpse of ‘Limousine’ came at Bring Me The Horizon’s first 2024 concert in Wales when they played teasers from each song on the big screens of Utilita Arena Cardiff.

With no official word on who will feature in the new album (except for Underoath), fans on social media started discussing the likelihood of Eilish being part of it, linking the event to Sykes’ comment. A fan wrote on X:

“Hearing that Billie Eilish might be on the next BMTH album has me jumping in my room like a schoolgirl. Not the collab we expected but the collab we needed.”

Another shared:

“I’d actually love to see Billie Eilish collab with BMTH. Maybe even more in the alternative rock scene; I do honestly think she’d suit it.”

If Eilish does appear in ‘Limousine,’ it would not be the first time BMTH has shown interest in her music. In 2019, the band performed a cover of Eilish’s ‘When The Party’s Over’ in a live, acoustic session for BBC Radio 1’s ‘Future Sounds’ with Annie Mac.

News From The Upcoming Album

As fans are waiting for a confirmation from Bring Me The Horizon or Billie Eilish herself, the release date for ‘NeX GEn’ is approaching. The new album will reportedly hit the shelves this summer.

It was originally set to come out last September but was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances,’ which possibly referred to keyboardist Jordan Fish’s exit from the band.
