Paul Gallagher, the older brother of Oasis members Liam and Noel Gallagher, has been charged with multiple serious offences including rape and sexual assault. The Telegraph reported the charges.

The Metropolitan Police released an official statement detailing the charges against the 57-year-old.

“Paul Gallagher, of Manor Park Road, East Finchley, has been charged with rape, coercive and controlling behaviour, three counts of sexual assault, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of making a threat to kill and assault occasioning actual bodily harm,” a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said.

The statement continued with additional details about the timeline and investigation.

“The offences are reported to have taken place between 2022-2024,” the spokesperson added. “The charges follow an investigation which commenced in 2024. A woman is being supported by specially trained officers.”

The charges come at a particularly significant time for the Gallagher family. The music world prepares for major developments involving his famous brothers.

Consequence of Sound revealed that Paul Gallagher works as a photographer and DJ. He is currently listed as the “Tour DJ” for Oasis’ highly anticipated 2025 reunion tour. The reunion marks the end of a 15-year hiatus for the legendary Manchester band. This makes the timing of these charges particularly notable for the family.

Paul Gallagher is scheduled to appear in Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 27 for a preliminary hearing. AOL noted that it remains unclear whether he has retained legal representation or entered a plea regarding the charges.

The Gallagher brothers and Oasis have not yet issued any public statements regarding the charges against their older brother. The Daily Beast confirmed that the band’s representatives have remained silent on the matter as the legal proceedings move forward.

The case is expected to proceed through the court system. Further hearings will likely follow the initial appearance later this month.
