Nothing More frontman Jonny Hawkins revealed the challenges of their 2022 tour with Sleep Token and In This Moment in a recent interview with Jesea Lee.

“It was the worst tour of my life. The people on the tour were amazing, we got along with everyone. But the whole tour was f*cking cursed,” Hawkins said. “Everyday we were like ‘what’s going to happen today?'”

“Sleep Token’s bus flooded, and all of the bathroom stuff backed up, so they were walking in it for days. They had a bus driver that quit and just left the bus,” he continued.

“One of our crew guy’s really good friend died. The next day, we had someone not make it because of a flight,” Hawkins explained. “Then we had two shows cancelled – and on and on. Every day was literally a crisis on that tour.”

The bands encountered numerous logistical and personal challenges throughout the tour’s duration.

The metal scene witnessed a significant touring event that year. Consequence reported the tour’s extensive run from August 26 to October 22, 2022. In This Moment headlined the shows, with Nothing More, Sleep Token, and Cherry Bombs providing support.

Loudwire documented the tour’s ambitious schedule. The performances spanned major U.S. cities, including Evansville, St. Louis, Morrison, Atlanta, and Milwaukee. The bands also performed at major festivals such as Rocklahoma, Blue Ridge Rock Festival, and Louder Than Life.

Louder Sound highlighted the tour’s special significance. It marked the 10th-anniversary celebration of In This Moment’s album ‘Blood.’

Hawkins found a silver lining in the challenging tour. He appreciated performing alongside Sleep Token and witnessed their rising popularity firsthand.
