Noel Gallagher Believes Taylor Swift Gave Matty Healy An Ultimatum

While on his U.S. tour, promoting his new album, ‘Council Skies,’ Noel Gallagher took a breather to chat with Rolling Stone. His conversation touched on the latest news about Matty Healy’s romantic life, hinting that the lead singer of 1975 had split with Taylor Swift due to an ultimatum.

The singer jokingly claimed that his battle of words with Healy was the reason behind the breakup by saying:

“Taylor has obviously said, ‘Now look, keep your f*cking nose out of that Gallagher business, or we are f*cking through. And he couldn’t help it. And Swifty, God bless her, said, ‘I can’t deal with this sh*t because once he’s done with you, he is gonna come after me, and I’m not f*cking having it. So, I’m sorry, Matty, you gotta go.’… Serves him right!”

The aforementioned ‘Gallagher business‘ can be traced back to February. It was then that The 1975 vocalist publicly asked the former Oasis members to ‘grow up’ and ‘get back together.’ Fast forward to May, in an interview with Spin, Noel came across Healy’s remarks and didn’t hold back, calling him a ‘slack-jawed f-ckwit.’

Referring to the dispute between the Gallagher brothers, Matty Healy’s words to Q with Tom Power read:

“Can you imagine being in potentially – right now, still – the coolest band in the world and not doing it because you’re in a mard with your brother?”

In response, High Flying Birds founder said:

“He would never be able to imagine it. He needs to go over how shit his band is and split up.”

Needless to say, this was far from the end of the story. According to NME, Healy answered Noel’s comments during a solo gig in Dublin earlier this month:

“Noel Gallagher called me a ‘slack-jawed fuckwit’… I love Noel Gallagher. We asked Liam to open up, and he said he would have done it, but he was busy. But I love Noel Gallagher… He’s just getting on. The difference between me and Noel is that I do a series of interviews to promote an album, whereas he does an album to promote a series of interviews.”

Meanwhile, the conflict between the Gallagher brothers goes on, and a reunion seems unlikely. Only a short time ago, Liam Gallagher vented his frustration with his brother on Twitter, insisting that there would be no Oasis reunion unless an apology came from Noel.
