Neal Schon’s wife Michaele recently shared a video featuring Journey band members after rumors circulated about Arnel Pineda’s potential departure from the band, as reported on Instagram.

The video showed Neal Schon, Deen Castronovo, and singer Arnel Pineda dancing together following Journey’s Las Vegas show. Fans interpreted the footage as evidence that dismisses speculation about Pineda leaving the group.

“Vegas baby!!” Michaele wrote in the caption of her video.

The video comes after Pineda shared a cryptic message with fans that sparked departure rumors.

“One of the greatest opportunities in my life used Neal Schon to make me a part of a legacy that’s touched millions of lives all over America and around the world, and as scared as I am from the start ’til now( believe it or not) I did what’s asked of me to do on behalf of the band’s legacy,” Pineda said. “Lots of mishaps, stumbling, shameful moments, gigantic self-doubt, imperfections and before we all knew it, 18 and a half years has passed. So that’s all there is.”

He continued his message by addressing his future with the band.

“For now, the story will go on, and who knows when it’ll stop, THY WILL BE DONE(I whisper them words all the time to myself),” he continued. “Again, thank you and I just wanna urge your respect to my privacy as I navigate a new chapter in my life that’s still kinda scary coz for me, it’s unknown and won’t reveal much of what I’m expecting it to be..the mystery of living a life in this world we are all in.”

Fans believe Michaele’s video of the band members enjoying themselves together helps clarify the situation regarding Pineda’s confusing “new chapter” message.

The speculation surrounding Pineda’s status comes during Journey’s ongoing Freedom Tour 2026. The tour has been drawing significant crowds and critical acclaim across North America.

Pineda’s journey with Journey began in 2007 when Neal Schon discovered him through YouTube videos of him covering Journey songs. The Filipino singer from Manila had previously fronted bands like the Zoo and performed in cover bands before his audition impressed the band. This led to his permanent role replacing Steve Augeri. His tenure has been marked by significant success, with the band praising his vocal range that matches Steve Perry’s style and his ability to revitalize Journey’s live energy.

Journey is currently in the midst of the Freedom Tour 2026, which began in January and includes co-headlining dates with Def Leppard in Europe and solo U.S. arena shows through May. Recent performances include sold-out shows at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Pineda delivered high-energy sets featuring classics like “Faithfully” and new tracks from their latest album at these venues. The tour has drawn praise for the band’s tight lineup and continues to average over 15,000 attendees per show.

Despite the recent speculation, no formal lineup change announcements have been made as of April 30, 2026. Journey’s official website continues to list Pineda as lead singer with no qualifiers. The band’s social media accounts remain focused on tour promotion. In a January 2026 SiriusXM interview, Schon affirmed his support for Pineda. Jonathan Cain echoed similar sentiments in a recent People magazine interview, calling Pineda “irreplaceable” and dismissing rumors as “just noise.”

Michaele Schon’s video appears to serve as an unofficial band endorsement. It counters Pineda’s ambiguous “new chapter” message with live footage that emphasizes his vocal prowess and continued presence with the group. The timing of her post, shared approximately 24 hours after Pineda’s cryptic message, aligns with the Schon family’s history of using personal social media for subtle public relations moves. This is particularly evident in calming fan concerns before major tour dates.
