Mike Kroeger Expresses Remorse Over Nickelback’s Disputes With Other Rock Bands

Mike Kroeger recently looked back on Nickelback’s past issues with other names. It seems he now regrets them.

Speaking on the ‘Rig Biz Podcast’ alongside Ryan Peake, Kroeger said that sometimes words can get messy and make everyone involved look ‘stupid’:

“Regrettable things get said on all sides, and everybody kind of looks stupid. I wouldn’t go on about it. But it is a game of egos, guys — it just really is. And sometimes those egos are fragile, and they get messy sometimes.”

Chad Kroeger Had a Beef With Corey Taylor

Chad Kroeger threw shade at Stone Sour and Corey Taylor back in 2017. Chad called Stone Sour a ‘light’ version of Nickelback and dared Taylor to write a hit song. He also said Slipknot’s performances relied on masks and theatrics rather than pure musical talent.

Taylor later revealed that Chad’s bandmates reached out to him to apologize. According to the singer, they stated it was all Chad’s doing:

“They were, like, ‘It’s not us. We promise. It’s this guy. We don’t…’ And I had hung out with the band before, and they’re super-cool dudes. So I was, like… Well, I figured it wasn’t them. So I don’t want people holding it against the band because it’s not them. It’s Captain Ego from Planet Douche.”

Taylor was, in fact, surprised by Chad’s words. He said there hadn’t been any recent issues between them except for a comment he made about fifteen years ago.

It appears that Mike wants to move past these old arguments. You can watch his full interview below.
