Helloween vocalist Michael Kiske has offered a fresh update on the band’s next studio album. The recording process is already well underway, as Kiske revealed in a new interview.
Kiske reflected on the making of the band’s latest record, Giants & Monsters, released in August 2025. He explained how the renewed chemistry within the reunited lineup has made the creative process smoother than ever.
“[It was] easy. It was much easier than the one before, which I explain, because we’ve been [back] together now for a number of years, the insecurities are not there anymore that you have in the beginning,” Kiske said.
He went on to describe how the band’s productivity has carried directly into work on the follow-up album.
“So I think the latest record was more organic somehow. And we had way too many songs. It was not so easy to decide what goes on the record,” he continued. “And we already have, I would say, like, 90% at least already done for the new record. It’s not gonna be long. Which shows how creative the band is and how productive [we are].”
The speed at which Helloween is moving on new material reflects how far the band has come since their landmark reunion. That reunion fundamentally reshaped the group’s identity and creative momentum.
The current lineup was forged through the Pumpkins United reunion, which brought together both classic and later-era members of the band under one roof for the first time. What began as a touring project eventually evolved into a full creative partnership. The reunited roster went on to record together as a unified lineup, operating with a shared sense of purpose that had been absent for decades.
Giants & Monsters marked the second studio effort from this reunited configuration. It arrived in August 2025 and built on the foundation laid by their first reunion album. Kiske noted that the songwriting process was notably more relaxed and collaborative than the one that came before it.
The surplus of material that emerged during the Giants & Monsters sessions speaks to how productive the reunited lineup has become. Rather than struggling to fill a tracklist, the band found themselves with more songs than they could use. That creative overflow has now fed directly into the next record, giving the follow-up a significant head start.
With the next Helloween album reportedly nearing completion, fans may not have to wait long for an official announcement. The band’s trajectory since the Pumpkins United reunion points to a group that has found a sustainable and prolific creative rhythm — one that shows no signs of slowing down.
