Marilyn Manson’s appearance via video message during Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert “Back to the Beginning” has generated significant backlash from fans on social media. The footage was documented and shared by a fan on YouTube.

The video message featured Manson reflecting on his relationship with Black Sabbath and expressing his admiration for Ozzy Osbourne.

“Hello everyone! This is Marilyn Manson,” he said. “Welcome to this celebration of Black Sabbath. When I was a kid growing up in Christian school, they told me expressly, ‘Do not listen to Black Sabbath,’ or I’d go to hell. Of course, that’s the first thing that I did.”

Manson continued his tribute by acknowledging his personal connection to the band and its frontman.

“I didn’t think that I’d grow up later to end up sharing a stage with Ozzy and Black Sabbath or become friends with Ozzy,” he said. “So it’s a great honor to be here via this video. And I’d like to say congratulations and I love you very much Ozzy.”

The appearance prompted harsh criticism from fans on social media. The reactions appear to stem from recent abuse allegations against Manson. One Ozzy fan wrote on X: “Eurgh Marilyn Manson making an appearance on the sabbath stream. F*ck that guy he’s a r*pist piece of sh*t.”

Another fan expressed similar sentiments, writing: “Marilyn Manson speaking at the Black Sabbath farewell concert? Phil Anselmo performing? They really brought all the scumbags together.”

The controversy highlights the ongoing impact of the abuse allegations that Manson has faced in recent years. The professional relationship between Manson and the Osbourne family has deep roots spanning decades.

Despite the public backlash, Loudwire reported that Sharon Osbourne has defended Manson’s professional conduct. She emphasized her 25-year working relationship with him. She stated that while she knows nothing about his personal life or treatment of women, he has always been respectful in their professional interactions.

The connection between Manson and Ozzy extends back to the late 1990s when the two first met and found common ground despite their different backgrounds and musical styles. Guitar World documented that their relationship developed over shared experiences in the music industry and mutual respect for each other’s work.

Manson was also scheduled to support Ozzy Osbourne on his 2020 tour. The tour was ultimately canceled due to Ozzy’s health problems, as Ultimate Metal noted. This professional arrangement underscored their ongoing collaboration prior to the recent controversies.

The video message incident demonstrates how past professional relationships in the music industry continue to generate debate when viewed through the lens of current social and legal controversies surrounding various artists.
