MGK seems to be changing his stage name.
During his red carpet appearance at the GQ Men of the Year, the rapper reportedly asked the photographers to no longer refer to him as ‘Machine Gun,’ but just call him ‘Machine’ instead.
“I have a question, instead of ‘Machine Gun,’ can you just hit me with the ‘Machine’ from now on?”
What Triggered MGK to Change His Name?

MGK has been using his name since the beginning of his music career, but during a recent show, he was persuaded by fans to change his name. During the show, a fan held up a sign that said, ‘Change your name!’ When he said he did not understand what the sign meant, the fans explained in response:
“We want you to change your name. We want you to take out the ‘Machine Gun’ so we don’t glorify machine guns. Just take out the ‘Machine Gun.'”
Following the explanation, the singer asked his audience about their thoughts, to which he received loud cheers and chanting:
“Change your name, change your name!”
The Social Media Post Captions are Under the New Name

Since that gig, MGK has been posting his pictures on both Instagram and X with the description only reading ‘machine.’ Though his username on both platforms is still ‘machinegunkelly,’ it still seems like an update.
The news seems to be confirmed since he also shared a screenshot of the photos from a fan page and wrote ‘machine’ as the description. Despite the posts, Entertainment Weekly reported that he is not officially changing his name and will keep being called Machine Gun Kelly.
