Machine Gun Kelly Says He Will Use A Guitar-Heavy Sound In His Upcoming Album

Machine Gun Kelly revealed to Billboard that his upcoming album ‘Born With Horns’ will have a different sound than his previous albums. Collaborating with Travis Barker, the singer stated that the guitar sounds will be more ‘heavy’ with deep lyrics.

Kelly released his album ‘Tickets To My Downfall’ in September 2020 and made a strong switch to the punk rock genre after his rap albums. While a lot of his fans thought this was the best album he ever released, other people criticized him for switching genres and accused him of being indecisive.

However, this didn’t stop Kelly from working on yet another different album. He recently stated that ‘Born With Horns’ will have more guitar- heavy sound compared to ‘Tickets To My Downfall,’ and the lyrics will be more meaningful.

Kelly described his new album by stating:

“It feels more guitar-heavy for sure, lyrically it definitely goes deeper, but I never like to do anything the same. Every album is a juxtaposition of the last album. So I went and studied ‘Tickets,’ and I heard the bright sound that I had, and for this album, I just turned the lights off.

I’m not scared anymore, there’s nothing holding me back from being my true self — and my true self can’t be silenced, can’t be restrained. It’s a force, it’s like a hurricane. Can’t stop that, it just goes until it feels like stopping, and I don’t feel like stopping anytime soon.

The second you open your eyes, and it’s 2022, you’ll have something to listen to.”

MGK released ‘Papercuts,’ the first single from ‘Born With Horns’ on August 11, 2021. In this interview, Kelly revealed that the album will be released possibly on New Year’s Eve. His fans only reacted positively under the ‘Papercuts’ video, it seems like they are beginning to appreciate the rock and roll side of the singer.
