Machine Gun Kelly has been stirring up controversy with his claims about being a rock star. While many exclaim that he isn’t a rock star, Grammy has sided with MGK and granted him a nomination for Best Rock Album. In a recent Instagram post, the rapper-turned-rocker reacted to this news and shared his excitement.

Although Mick Jagger appreciated his efforts to revive rock music, Machine Gun Kelly has been criticized by many for changing his musical direction. Especially when he stated that his ‘Mainstream Sellout’ proved rock isn’t dead yet, MGK became the center of criticism. Now, he’s happy that the album is among the Grammy nominees for Best Rock Album.

After being granted a Grammy nomination, Machine Gun Kelly took to his Instagram to share the news with his followers. He posted several pictures of himself and a video showing the moment he discovered he was a nominee. “Call me what you want as long as it starts with grammy nominated,’” wrote MGK in the caption. He added, “I love you.”

In the picture the musician posted, the Black Keys, Elvis Costello & The Imposters, Idles, Spoon, and Ozzy Osbourne are seen among the nominees. Osbourne’s name stands out on this list as he has been a veteran in the scene, and it’s more than likely that MGK’s nomination will create more controversy than ever.
