Paramore’s Hayley Williams Reveals Her Sexual Orientation
Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams shared a picture on her official Instagram stories celebrating her friend’s birthday with a funny photo in which she has a face mask. The little detail in the vocalist’s caption revealed her sexual orientation as he wrote, ‘your prettiest straight friend.’
For those of you who may not recall, Hayley Williams once shared a post on Twitter reacting to the former guitarist Josh Farro’s homophobic comment on Facebook. The guitarist compared homosexuality to pedophilia which received major backlash from countless people, including his former bandmate.
In her tweet, Williams stressed that Paramore doesn’t approve of any notion that leaves the LGBTQ+ community feeling rejected. Furthermore, the singer referred to all queer fans by saying that they are all loved and full of love, unlike the hatred that fills homophobic comments, proving that she’s an ally.
In her tweets, the Paramore singer said:
“There’s a reason there are only 3 people left in Paramore. Surprise, haters, it ain’t cause of me. Paramore does not condone religiously/politically dogmatic beliefs, which leave our LGBTQ+ friends, fans, & family feeling abandoned and hopeless.
And you know, if that doesn’t juice with you, well, feel free to go to where all past members of Paramore have gone, which is literally anywhere else but Paramore. To Paramore’s LGBTQ+ family, you are full of love, and you are loved.”
Although it’s publicly known that Hayley Williams is an LGBTQ+ ally, her sexual orientation isn’t something that she discusses every day. That’s the reason why the recent post on her official Instagram stories surprised her fans as she revealed her sexual orientation unintentionally.
While sharing a photo with her musician friend Joey Holman to celebrate his birthday, Williams captioned the post by saying that she may be Holman’s most beautiful heterosexual friend. By typing that, the Paramore frontwoman revealed her sexual orientation, most likely for the first time on her social media accounts.
Williams wrote in her IG story:
“Happy birthday Joey Holman. I love you, and I am so grateful to be your prettiest straight friend.”
