Machine Gun Kelly Gets Teased After Dissing Corey Taylor Over His Age
Machine Gun Kelly recently shared a post on his official Twitter page, taking his dispute with Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor to a whole new level. After personally making fun of the singer on stage, MGK wanted to represent youth with his tweet but ended up receiving huge backlash from numerous fans for his previous actions and his own age.
Although this entire beef is a mess, let’s start with the time when Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor said that some young musicians simply rip off old artists without giving them credit because they don’t want to admit the music that was made before them was better.
Many said his statement was about Machine Gun Kelly, and the rapper finally clapped back at the singer when both artists performed at Riot Fest over the weekend, headlining the fourth and final day. During his performance, MGK came for Slipknot by making fun of the bandmembers’ age and iconic facemasks by saying he is glad not to be a 50-year-old wearing a mask.
Machine Gun Kelly’s shade follows:
“Hey, you wanna know what I’m really happy that I’m not doing? Being 50 years old wearing a fucking weird mask on a fucking stage. Talkin’ shit. So anyway, what’s everyone’s favorite candy? Reese’s Pieces?”
It appears to be that his shoutout on stage wasn’t enough since MGK took Twitter to continue his diss and shared a post. The 31-year-old musician wrote people shouldn’t hate on the youth and young musicians. Although he has a point, the feedback on this statement wasn’t very positive.
In his post, the ‘Papercuts’ singer said:
“Don’t hate on the youth.”
It’s fair to say that MGK received the biggest backlash after his tweets, especially for his previous statements on Twitter, in which he implied he has a weak spot for underage girls. Many fans shared those old tweets of the musician saying he should stay away from talking about youth and the young generation when he has countless offensive posts that can put him into the position of a pedophile.
Furthermore, dozens of fans stressed that the singer cannot be the young musician who defends the new generation considering that he’s 31 years old. A fan was so furious said his girlfriend Megan Fox is older than the drummer of Slipknot, Jay Weinberg, who is the same age as Machine Gun Kelly.
In addition to this, he’s also currently best friends with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker who isn’t a young person, meaning that hating people who are ‘old’ doesn’t make sense. That fan also stated that MGK was inspired by many bands who wore masks or face paint, such as KISS, which makes him look ridiculous for mocking Slipknot for their facemasks.
A fan said the obvious fact:
“Bestie you’re 31.”
An angry fan shared:
“You’re not the youth, you’re 31. Megan Fox is older than the drummer of Slipknot. U hang with Travis Barker whose the same age as other members of Slipknot. Making fun of bands that wear masks acting like you weren’t inspired by KISS.”
