Linkin Park have officially announced a new documentary titled Unshatter. The film chronicles the years following the 2017 death of frontman Chester Bennington. It documents how the band reformed with Emily Armstrong on vocals and Colin Brittain, with a limited theatrical run beginning September 30.
The band shared details about the project, including an accompanying live soundtrack release tied to the documentary.

Full video on YouTube,” the band announced. “The Unshatter Film Soundtrack (Live in São Paulo) is out September 25, featuring career-spanning live tracks recorded at our FROM ZERO album release show in November 2024. Experience Unshatter in theaters worldwide for a limited run beginning September 30.”
Director Joe Hahn spoke about the personal and universal themes the documentary aims to explore.
“‘Unshatter’ follows a very particular moment in Linkin Park’s history and documents a path through loss, uncertainty, friendship, and reinvention,” Hahn said. “I hope longtime fans see parts of our journey they’ve never seen before, and I hope people who are just discovering our music come away with a better understanding of how we got here.”
Hahn emphasized that the film’s message extends beyond the band itself.
“But even beyond Linkin Park, I hope people connect with it as a story about relationships, resilience, and what it really takes to move forward when you don’t have all the answers,” he continued.
Unshatter opens in theaters worldwide for a limited run on September 30. The live soundtrack will be available ahead of the theatrical release on September 25.
The documentary offers a rare look into a chapter of the band’s history that spans nearly a decade of uncertainty, rebuilding, and reinvention.
The film traces the band’s path from studio sessions that began in 2022. Those sessions captured the earliest stages of their rebuilding process, long before a new lineup was publicly confirmed. The story culminates at the sold-out From Zero album release show in São Paulo in November 2024, which serves as the documentary’s emotional centerpiece and the source of the accompanying live soundtrack.
From Zero, the album that marked Linkin Park’s official comeback with Armstrong and Brittain, reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 upon its release. The result underscored the scale of public interest in the band’s return and demonstrated that the reformation resonated well beyond the band’s existing fanbase.
The Unshatter Film Soundtrack, recorded live in São Paulo, features career-spanning tracks and is set for release on September 25. The soundtrack is positioned as a standalone release, including material not featured in the documentary itself.
The documentary is being distributed theatrically via Trafalgar, with pre-sale tickets already available. The limited theatrical run begins September 30.
