Liam Gallagher Reflects On Making Peace With His Brother Noel Gallagher

During a recent conversation with The Times, former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher opened up about burying the hatchet with his brother Noel Gallagher. According to the musician, his brother is the one who doesn’t want to make peace, and he cannot reach out any longer to talk things through.

The Gallagher brothers infamously shared a turbulent relationship over the years of being bandmates. The siblings had arguments over countless matters, causing concerts to be canceled or delayed in addition to blaming each other over numerous incidents most of which turned out to be false accusations.

Their relationship affected their music career and eventually led up to Oasis’ disbandment on August 28, 2009, in the middle of the tour when the band was preparing to go on stage at the Rock En Seine festival in Paris. Although it has been over a decade since their band split up, their vendetta against each other didn’t fade away.

One of the recent signs that the Gallagher brothers won’t be moving on from their problems any time soon happened over the documentary of Oasis. Noel Gallagher made it perfectly clear that he is not going to be talking to his brother Liam, even during the making of their documentary as it’s just business to him.

While both sides made bold statements in their past about each other, it seems like Liam Gallagher is the one who is more eager to make amends with his brother. In fact, the musician reflected on this matter during a recent interview. The Oasis icon started his words by saying he loves his brother, and it’s wild that they split up almost 13 years ago.

Liam Gallagher continued by stating that they can keep on blaming each other, but there’s no point in that anymore. If you ask him, Noel Gallagher would reach out to him if he really wants to, even for their mother’s sake. However, Noel doesn’t want to speak to him which leaves Liam no choice since he can only try to a certain point.

About making up with his brother, Liam Gallagher said:

“But you know I love him. We split up nearly 13 years ago. It’s ridiculous. We can go on about whose fault it is, but he’s his own man. If he really wanted to get in contact, for my mum’s sake, he could do it, but he obviously doesn’t want to. There are only so many olive branches you can offer.”

It appears that the Gallagher brothers accepted the fact that they have a life without each other. While it’s always sad to see former bandmates turning into strangers like this, it’s more heartbreaking to see two brothers turning their backs on each other. The only thing fans can hope is to see both Liam and Noel talk things through if such a thing is possible.
