Kings Of Leon Brothers Cancel Shows To Be With Their Mother On Her Last Day

The band formed by the Followill brothers, Kings of Leon, recently canceled their shows to be with their mother who was suffering from severe illnesses. Shortly after that, Jared Followill posted photos of his mother and announced her death on his Instagram with an emotional message.
Kings of Leon is an alternative rock band formed in 1999 by the brothers Caleb, Jared, Nathan, and their cousin Matthew. The band achieved considerable commercial success with their singles and albums. The band was also nominated for Grammy Awards 12 times and won four of them with ‘Use Somebody,’ and ‘Sex on Fire.’ Moreover, they released their latest studio album ‘When You See Yourself’ on March 5, 2021.
Recently, they found out that their mother was severely ill, thus they had to go back home to be with her. After the sad news, they announced the cancellation of two of their shows in Shoreline Amphitheatre and Ohana Festival, which they were due to perform with Pearl Jam. The band made the announcement via a post on Instagram and stated that their fans were keeping them strong up on stage after finding out that their mother didn’t have much time left in this world.
Here is what the post stated:
“Our mother, who many of our fans know and love, has been dealing with a medical crisis for the last several weeks and while it has been hard to take the stage each night, it has been the love and energy from you, our fans, that has gotten us through.
Just before taking the stage at The Forum, we learned she took a turn for the worse. It was a hard show to get through, but you held us up that night in a way we will never forget. Immediately following the show, we all flew home, where we will remain by her side until the time comes to say goodbye. Our show tonight at Shoreline Amphitheatre and our appearance at Ohana Festival this weekend are canceled but we wanted to say thank you to all of our fans, Eddie, and to the entire Pearl Jam family for supporting us during this time.
With love,
Caleb, Nathan, and Jared.”
Soon after, Jared shared a post on his personal Instagram account which included a caption that made his fans quite emotional. In the post, he stated how much his mother was proud of them for their success and confessed that he will miss her every day.
Here is what Jared stated:
“My mom was always so proud of us. She let everybody know it. Would always post pictures of us. She used to send me pictures of us together and tell me I could post them if I wanted to. For Mother’s Day, her birthday, etc. I always thought it was cheesy. Not cool. I was embarrassed. Well, I’m not embarrassed anymore. You were the strongest, sweetest, most beautiful woman in the world to me. You were a better mama and grandmother than any of us deserved. I’m so proud you are my mom. Always have been and always will be. Love you so much. I will miss you every single day until I’m with you again.”
It is hard to comfort someone that goes through difficult times like these as there aren’t many words to heal such pain. However, if their fans made it possible for them to stand on stage and perform successfully after hearing the bad news, their future performances will also be supported by their fans’ love and energy.
