Johnny Van Zant shared his thoughts on Bad Company’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock.
“Paul Rodgers’ wife, Cynthia, reached out to me when they were nominated and said, ‘Hey, spread the word,'” Van Zant said. “I was like, ‘Heck, yeah!'”
“I’m so proud of them, and you know what? Paul was my favorite singer of all time,” he continued. “So for him to get in there, what a great, great thing. Now, I feel really good about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”
The band’s induction has generated significant excitement in the rock music community. Several important details have emerged about the upcoming ceremony.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation confirmed the ceremony will take place on November 8 in Los Angeles. The event will stream live on Disney+ and later air on ABC.
Blabbermouth noted that the honored classic lineup features Paul Rodgers, Mick Ralphs, drummer Simon Kirke, and the late Boz Burrell.
Ultimate Classic Rock reported that the band has not finalized their performance plans. Drummer Simon Kirke indicated the decision about their ceremony participation remains pending.
This induction represents a milestone achievement for Bad Company as they join rock’s most celebrated acts in the prestigious institution.
