Johnny Depp’s Co-Star Thinks Depp Was Mischaracterized During Legal Battle With Amber Heard
Hollywood Vampires member and actor Johnny Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean co-star Greg Ellis opened up about the actor’s current situation in his career due to his ongoing feud and lawsuit with ex-wife Amber Heard during an interview with Express, and according to the co-star, Depp has been mischaracterized throughout the whole process.
The famous actor Johnny Depp has been experiencing downhill effects for his acting career after his wife Amber Heard filed for divorce from Depp in May 2016 and obtained a temporary restraining order against him, allegedly stating that Depp was verbally and physically abusive throughout their relationship, mostly while under the substance influence.
On the other hand, Johnny Depp denied these accusations and stated that Heard’s aim is to secure a financial resolution through these allegations. A settlement was eventually reached in August 2016, and the divorce was finalized in January 2017, after Heard dismissed the restraining order and both sides accepted that their relationship was intensely passionate, however, there wasn’t physical or emotional harm.
Although both sides came to a settlement, Johnny Depp’s acting career is extensively harmed when Warner Bros asked the successful actor to resign from his role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3, being recast with another brilliant actor Mads Mikkelsen, especially after Depp lost his lawsuit against The Sun newspaper after the paper referred to the star as a ‘wife-beater.’
During a recent interview, his co-star Greg Ellis opened up about his opinions on the events that deeply affected Johnny Depp and stated that he’ll continue supporting Depp since his character has been misinterpreted throughout this whole process as he isn’t the person the press referred to him as.
Speaking with Express, Ellis said:
“He’s very supportive of what I’m doing and how I’m doing it. I’m mindful he’s still navigating his way through the legal system on many fronts, so the details of that I don’t talk about much. But I have been and will continue to be vocal. Many people have mischaracterized him.”
Greg Ellis isn’t the only person who previously worked with Johnny Depp and defended him in his case against ex-wife Amber Heard since many of his co-stars and bandmates constantly stated that he’s nothing but violence and the allegations are nothing but rumors, including Alice Cooper who stated that Depp is one of the most gentle, harmless, and kind people he’s ever seen.
