During a Sunday concert in Toledo, Ohio, John Mellencamp clashed with a heckler and warned he might cut the show short.

According to a new TikTok video, a fan interrupted Mellencamp’s story by telling him to ‘play some music.’ The singer responded:

“What do you think I’ve been doing, you c*cksucker? Here’s the thing, man. You don’t know me. You don’t f*cking know me. Hey Joe, find this guy, and let me see him after the show.”

Mellencamp’s Stand Against Heckling

Another fan also asked him to play ‘Authority Song.’ Mellencamp then threatened to cut the show short, saying:

“Guys, I can stop this show right now and just go home. Tell you what I’m gonna do. Since you’ve been so wonderful, I’m gonna cut about 10 songs out of the show. Here we go.”

The rocker played a brief snippet of ‘Jack & Diane’ to handle the disruptions. He then stated:

“Know what? Show’s over.”

However, the Toledo Blade reported that he returned to the stage after about five minutes to continue his set. He performed hits like ‘Rain on the Scarecrow’ and ‘Pink Houses.’ The newspaper also added that the singer addressed another disruptive person in the audience. He said they belonged in kindergarten.

This Wasn’t His First Encounter

Mellencamp had similar experiences during his previous shows in Cleveland and Grand Prairie, Texas. He told the following to the audience in Cleveland last year:

“Listen, hey, you guys, if these people don’t shut the f*ck up, I’m just going to leave, OK? Because I’m not used to this crap. Look, guys, if I wanted to play in this type of drunken environment, I’d play outside, or I’d play in an arena.”

Mellencamp is currently touring with his Live and In Person Tour to promote his new album, ‘Orpheus Descending.’ The tour began on March 8 in Rochester, N.Y., and will conclude on April 22 in Savannah, Ga.
