The Independent reported that John Lydon, former frontman of Sex Pistols, has firmly rejected any possibility of reuniting with his former bandmates.

“Never, not after what I consider their dirty deeds, let them wallow in Walt Disney woke expectations,” Lydon stated when asked about a potential reunion.

“They’ve killed the content, or done their best to, and turned the whole thing into a rubbish childishness, and that’s unacceptable,” he continued. “Sorry, I’m not going to give a helping hand to this any longer, as far as I am concerned, I am the Pistols, and they’re not.”

This latest statement adds another chapter to the band’s complicated history of reunions and conflicts.

Ultimate Classic Rock documented the Sex Pistols’ last reunion in 1996. The Filthy Lucre Tour faced criticism for its perceived financial motivations.

The tour achieved commercial success. However, historical records revealed that band members deliberately avoided each other during performances to prevent confrontations.

AXS TV noted that tensions escalated after a legal dispute over the use of Sex Pistols’ music in the 2022 miniseries ‘Pistol. ‘

The remaining members have now moved forward without Lydon. Frank Carter has taken over vocal duties for recent performances. This development has further cemented the divide within the legendary punk band’s legacy.
