Former Cro-Mags lead singer John Joseph heavily criticized Dave Grohl because of Foo Fighters’ decision to perform only to the people who got vaccinated in their concert at Madison Square Garden by calling the band ‘Flu Pfizers’ and ‘Flu Fighters’ in his interview with The Void With Christina.
As you might recall, Foo Fighters announced that people must be vaccinated as a precaution against coronavirus to be able to attend their concert on June 20, 2021, at Madison Square Garden. This obligation caused a great backlash from the anti-vaxxers and people who couldn’t get vaccinated yet. Foo Fighters was characterized as discriminative and some of their fans decided not to buy any tickets for the band’s concerts.
Comedian Josh Denny had criticized the band by stating that there can’t be a vaccine requirement because it is impossible for some people to get vaccinated, and stressed that he isn’t a fan of the band anymore. Cro-Mags’ John Joseph also recently slammed Dave Grohl because of the vaccine obligation while him reminding of the times when he was the drummer of Scream.
According to Joseph, there can be no such thing as a vaccinated-only show, which was precisely what Foo Fighters had done just some weeks ago. He even called the band the Flu Pfizers and the Flu Fighters because of their decision considering their previous concerts and it seems that he can’t approve of Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters’ way of organizing safe concerts.
In Joseph’s words, he said:
“I forget what the dude’s name is — he’s in some big fucking band — he’s, like, ‘I’m not playing any vaccinated-only shows. He was in a big English band; I forget what the name of ’em is.
Then you’ve got motherfuckers like Dave Grohl who used to play drums for Scream and open up for the Cro-Mags now he’s with the Flu Pfizers, the Flu Fighters and it’s, like, ‘We’re playing vaccinated-only shows.’
What kind of bullshit is that? What kind of fucking bullshit are you fucking dealing with in your fucking head that you would play a vaccinated-only fucking show?”
