Former Mötley Crüe and the Dead Daisies singer John Corabi has issued his first public statement following the Dead Daisies’ announcement of his departure from the band.

In his message, Corabi addressed several rumors circulating about his next move. He also made a pointed claim that his exit from the Dead Daisies was not a mutual decision — suggesting he may have been let go.

“So just setting the record straight….I’m not joining Quiet Riot. I’m not returning to the Crüe…,” Corabi said. “It was NOT a mutual decision to leave the band I was recently in…”

Despite the circumstances surrounding his departure, Corabi struck a forward-looking tone in the closing lines of his statement.

“But I can also state that it’s a NEW opportunity, a NEW chapter, and excuse the pun….It’s a NEW DAY!!!!!!” he continued.

The statement came shortly after the Dead Daisies publicly announced Corabi’s exit. The timing and conflicting accounts surrounding the split have left fans with more questions than answers.

This marks Corabi’s second exit from the Dead Daisies, following a recent three-year run with the group. The band’s official statement directly contradicted Corabi’s version of events. The Dead Daisies claimed they had only recently learned that Corabi had decided to leave, and thanked him for his “incredible contribution” over the years.

The circumstances leading up to the split had already been murky. Corabi had previously stated he was told the band would be taking a year off while he promoted his solo material. He was later surprised to see the Dead Daisies performing shows with former vocalist Glenn Hughes under the name The Purple Daisies.

Corabi’s pun-laden closing line was no accident. His latest solo album, titled New Day, was released in April via Frontiers Music Srl, making the reference a pointed nod to his current chapter outside the band.

Corabi’s rock career stretches back decades. He served as Mötley Crüe’s frontman from 1992 to 1994, recording the self-titled album Mötley Crüe — often referred to as Quittin’ Time — during that tenure. The band eventually reunited with original singer Vince Neil, ending Corabi’s run with the group.
