Dizzy Reed, the longtime keyboardist for Guns N’ Roses, recently discussed his priorities and upcoming plans in an interview with EON Music.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer addressed questions about balancing his solo career with his commitment to the iconic rock band.
When asked about his future plans and whether he would be touring with Guns N’ Roses again soon, Reed made his priorities clear.
“Well, number one for me is always GN’R. It’s because of GN’R that I can do things like this and I’ve been so fortunate to be able to play rock and roll music for a living for the last forty-five, fifty years,” Reed said.
Reed also outlined his immediate schedule and solo ambitions.
“Yeah, we start rehearsals next week. We’ll be in South America coming up, and then after that, I’m trying to get some shows in around Christmas time, probably with Hookers & Blow, and we’ll be doing some songs off this new record,” he continued. “Then I would like to get out there and play it in its entirety to anybody who wants to hear it.”
Reed’s comments come at a significant moment in his career. He balances his unwavering commitment to Guns N’ Roses with his personal artistic expression through solo work.
AXS TV reported that Reed’s second solo album “Rock n Roll Chose Me” was released on August 22, 2025, through Pittsburgh-based label 50q Records. The ten-track album represents a deeply personal and socially reflective work that explores themes like letting go, mental health struggles, and the illusions of the American Dream.
Reed co-produced the album with Jason Achilles Mezilis and collaborated on lyrics with Nadja and Del James. Arrow Lords of Metal noted that the album conveys stories of perseverance and human cost in a divided society. It showcases music’s unifying power through heartfelt messages and metal influences.
Notable singles from the album include “Falling Down 2gether” and “Earn It 2 Burn It.” The latter is accompanied by an official lyric video. Antimusic revealed that “Earn It 2 Burn It” addresses the struggle of working hard without financial reward and growing up burdened by debt. Reed drew musical inspiration from his love of metal and paid tribute to his hero John Lord.
Despite his solo pursuits, Reed remains the longest-serving member of Guns N’ Roses after Axl Rose. This reinforces his dedication to the band that has defined much of his career. His upcoming rehearsals and South American tour dates with Guns N’ Roses demonstrate that his loyalty to the group remains as strong as ever. He continues to explore new creative territories through his solo work.
