Lzzy Hale Shares The Story Behind Halestorm’s ‘New Modern Love’

Halestorm’s frontwoman Lzzy Hale revealed the meaning behind the lyrics of the song ‘New Modern Love’ in her recent tweet. The rocker indicated that she celebrated living different from society’s norms with this song regarding her personal life.

Into The Wild Life‘ is the third studio album of Halestorm, dropped on April 3, 2015. The record reached number 5 on the Billboard chart upon its release. ‘Apocalyptic’ and ‘Amen’ came out as singles from the album, and it includes successful songs like ‘Scream,’ ‘I Am The Fire,’ and ‘Dear Daughter.’

All songs have their one-of-a-kind stories behind them in this album. While ‘Amen’ talks about living according to your own beliefs, ‘Dear Daughter’ mentions the issues between parents and children. On the other hand, ‘Scream’ said to the audience that you should do what you want without listening to others.

‘New Modern Love’ was one of these songs with a unique backstory with its lyrics. While some Twitter users were talking about the meaning of this song, Lzzy Hale explained that she wrote the song by thinking about her current relationship. Hale also added that she wrote it to make a point about celebrating being different, not conforming the society’s demands, as her own life inspired her as a bisexual woman.

Lzzy Hale explained the meaning behind the lyrics of ‘New Modern Love’ in her words:

“It’s actually about my relationship. I’m bi, but I have a very loving and beautiful relationship with a man. I don’t fit into the norm/what everyone says is the ideal. This song is me celebrating that!”
