Jim Root Threatens Slipknot Bandmates To Leak Long-Delayed Album

Slipnot hasn’t confirmed a clear release date for their long-awaited album, ‘Look Outside Your Window,’ in the past six years. Jim Root sounds as frustrated as fans, about the delay in a recent interview with Metal Hammer.

“Man, I keep telling Clown that I’m just gonna throw it up on YouTube, then put a link to it on my Instagram or something,” the guitarist told the outlet. “He’s like, ‘Don’t, dude, just don’t.’”

Root added that Crahan is still working on the mixes and guessed, “Maybe he’s losing focus on it or whatever.”

“I don’t even remember what any of that stuff sounds like, because it’s been so long since we recorded it,” he then admitted. “I don’t think I’ve listened to it in probably 10 years. Maybe I’ll go find him after we are done talking and I’ll be like, ‘Let’s listen to ‘Look Outside Your Window,’ and let’s release it tonight…’”

Slipknot recorded ‘Look Outside Your Window’ alongside 2008’s ‘All Hope Is Gone’ at Sound Farm Studio in Iowa. Since it had a different, more experimental sound than the band’s usual style, the record waited on the side all these years.

Six years ago, Crahan said their new album would come out during the tour cycle for 2019’s ‘We Are Not Your Kind.’ The trek concluded with the release of ‘The End, So Far’ in 2022 instead.

Last year, the percussionist confirmed the mixes and masters were done and ‘Look Outside Your Window’ would arrive in 2024, but that didn’t happen, either.

Right now, there’s no set release date for the album.
