Jane’s Addiction have canceled the rest of their U.S. tour due to Perry Farrell’s ‘mental health difficulties.’ Dave Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins made the announcement in a joint Instagram post just days after an onstage altercation between Farrell and Navarro.
“Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current U.S. tour,” the trio wrote in a statement. “Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs.”
They added, “We deeply regret that we are not able to come through for all our fans who have already bought tickets. We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis. Our hearts are broken.”
The band’s official social media confirmed their decision by writing, “To all the fans, the band has made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group. As such, they will be canceling the remainder of the tour. Refunds for the canceled dates will be issued at your point of purchase—or if you purchased from a third-party resale site like StubHub, SeatGeek, etc., please reach out to them directly.”

Farrell, appearing drunk/high, bumped into Navarro, swore at him, and tried to punch him during a Jane’s Addiction show on September 13 at the Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston, Massachusetts. The incident led to the cancellation of the rest of the night’s performance.
Following the incident, the band apologized to fans on social media. Meanwhile, Farrell’s wife came to his defense by saying he was frustrated because his voice, weak due to his tinnitus and a sore throat, was ‘drowned out by the band.’
Still, Jane’s Addiction canceled their Bridgeport concert on September 15, as well. Dave Navarro later hinted at a possible tour cancellation on Instagram. “Goodnight,” he wrote under a picture from the same night the incident happened.
The canceled tour was Jane’s Addiction’s first reunion in 14 years and was followed by a new song, ‘Imminent Redemption,’ in July with the promise of more new music in 2025.
