Iron Maiden has announced Japanese dates for their ‘Run For Your Lives’ world tour and revealed plans for an extended break from touring. The announcement was shared on Instagram.
The band’s announcement outlined their touring plans and confirmed a significant hiatus from live performances.
“These two shows will be extra special as they are the very last shows the band will play until at least 2028, as they take a well-earned break from being on the road for the whole of 2027,” Iron Maiden announced in their news release.
Bassist Steve Harris expressed particular enthusiasm about concluding the tour in Japan.
“We are very excited to be bringing this Run for Your Lives tour to Japan later this year. And even more so as we are ending the entire two-year world tour in Yokohama,” Harris said. “I have always loved spending time in Japan, and we enjoy coming back whenever we can to play for our fans there. So it feels extra special for us to be sharing the final two nights of this incredible tour with you all in Japan. It’s going to make it a truly memorable occasion for us all.”
The announcement marks the end of Iron Maiden’s extensive two-year world tour. Their final performances are scheduled to take place in Yokohama, Japan.
The ‘Run For Your Lives’ tour represents one of Iron Maiden’s most ambitious productions to date. The band describes it as featuring a once-in-a-lifetime setlist spanning their first nine albums. Iron Maiden’s official website reported that these final shows will showcase a state-of-the-art production that has been critically acclaimed throughout the world tour.
The Japanese dates are part of the tour’s final leg. This leg also includes stops in Australia and New Zealand in November 2026. Iron Maiden’s official announcement confirmed that Megadeth will serve as special guests for these concluding performances across the region.
The two final shows are scheduled for November 24 and 25 at Yokohama’s K-Arena. These performances mark the official end of what has been described as one of the band’s most extensive touring cycles. Metal Injection noted that these metal icons will wrap their two-year world tour with these Japanese performances before taking their extended break from the road.
The timing of the break comes after an intensive period of global touring that has taken the British heavy metal legends across multiple continents. The band’s decision to conclude in Japan reflects their long-standing relationship with Japanese fans and the country’s significance in their touring history.
