Bring Me The Horizon has recently covered Oasis’ ‘Wonderwall,’ but fans aren’t happy with it.

The band released the cover on January 29 for Spotify Singles. While some love it, a musician named Todd Barriage, known for covering pop punk, emo, hardcore, and metal songs, has been getting backlash because of the new version.

Sykes shared a screenshot of a message from Barriage himself about the situation on Instagram. “Hey, man, I’m receiving some harassment from BMTH fans and fan- pages. they’re somehow angry at me over the similarities between our ‘Wonderwall’ covers. It would mean a lot if you could shout out me and Loner Youth for inspiration on the cover. They won’t listen to reason, but they might listen to you,” fellow musician wrote to him.

Replying with “Of course, man,” the rocker added a warning for fans to the screenshot. “FYI our WW cover was inspired by an idea FIRST imagined by Todd Barriage & Loner Youth. We have their blessing and they did it first so please don’t give em sh*t. Just enjoy the music,” it read.

Upon releasing the single, Liam Gallagher reacted to it positively. While fans expected him to not like the song, “I f*cking LOVE it,” he wrote on X. Gallagher also responded to a fan saying he’d be mad, “I’m not, it’s absolutely incredible made my day. I’m of out on my skateboard f*ck y’all.”

All the profits of the cover will go to the Teenage Cancer Trust. The band will also headline Reading & Leeds 2025 with Chappell Roan, Travis Scott, and Hozier.
