Mötley Crüe guitarist John 5 recently praised vocalist Vince Neil’s performance during the band’s Las Vegas residency. He shared his thoughts in an interview with Mike Z.

John 5’s comments came as the band prepares for their upcoming “The Return Of Carnival Of Sins” tour. His remarks addressed Neil’s vocal abilities after the singer’s recent health struggles, including a stroke.

“Listen, please do me a favor. Please, please, please, do me a favor, and anybody watching this — go [and watch YouTube clips of Mötley Crüe’s performances during the 2025 Las Vegas residency] and listen to how great Vince did at the Vegas residency,” John 5 said. “Listen to ‘Home Sweet Home’, listen to any of these songs. He sang incredible — incredible — and I was so proud of him. He really did a great job.”

The guitarist also expressed his excitement about the upcoming tour’s setlist. Specific songs have yet to be finalized.

“I am super excited to hear, ’cause I’m, like, ‘Just tell me what you wanna do.’ ‘Cause I know all the songs, and I said, ‘Just tell me,'” John 5 continued. “And literally, before this interview, I was, like, ‘God, when are they gonna pick those songs?’ So I am waiting, and I’m so excited. So, yeah, I know there’s gonna be a couple of different songs in there. So I can’t, can’t wait.”

John 5’s enthusiastic endorsement of Neil’s vocal performance comes at a crucial time for the band. They prepare to embark on their highly anticipated 2026 tour.

The Las Vegas residency that John 5 referenced took place at Dolby Live at Park MGM. The venue is known for its exceptional acoustics and intimate 5,000-seat capacity. The shows were originally scheduled for spring 2025 but were rescheduled to September following Neil’s health challenges.

Blabbermouth reported that the residency performances demonstrated Neil’s vocal recovery. They marked a significant milestone in his return to form. The venue’s superior sound system and sightlines provided an optimal setting for fans to witness the band’s performance quality.

The upcoming “The Return Of Carnival Of Sins” tour represents a celebration of the 20th anniversary of Crüe’s original 2005-2006 “Carnival Of Sins” tour. Sonic Perspectives noted that bassist Nikki Sixx has promised fans “a crazy journey” during the 2026 tour. He described it as “the next level” while acknowledging the band’s commitment to delivering their classic hits.

The Las Vegas residency was part of a broader trend of major rock acts establishing temporary homes on the Strip in 2025. Las Vegas Sun observed that Mötley Crüe joined artists like Luke Bryan, The B-52s, and Scorpions in bringing memorable performances to Nevada’s entertainment capital throughout the year.
