Aerosmith producer Jack Douglas discussed the band’s potential return in a recent interview with The New York Post.

“I hope so. I don’t know, I hear rumors,” Douglas said about the possibility of the band’s comeback. “But I’m sure that they would love to.”

“I mean, these guys want to keep playing,” he continued. “There is no Aerosmith without Steven. So if Steven can sing, believe me, he’ll want to be out there.”

Aerosmith had to cancel their farewell tour due to Steven Tyler’s vocal cord injury and subsequent vocal surgery.

These comments emerged from a series of events affecting the legendary rock band’s farewell plans.

CBS News revealed that Tyler suffered serious vocal cord damage during a September 2023 performance at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York. The injury, initially estimated to need 30 days of recovery, proved far more severe than expected.

Medical attention and multiple recovery attempts proved unsuccessful. Pollstar documented the band’s subsequent decision to officially retire from touring.

NJ Arts reported that Ticketmaster processed automatic refunds for all ticket holders. Fans who purchased from third-party vendors needed to contact their point of purchase.

The band expressed gratitude to their ‘Blue Army’ fanbase. They thanked fans for supporting their legacy and encouraged them to continue enjoying their music despite the end of live performances.
