Helloween singer Andi Deris recently discussed the possibility of creating a fourth installment in the band’s iconic ‘Keeper Of The Seven Keys’ saga. He shared his thoughts in an interview with Metal Remains.

The vocalist explained how the band’s conceptual albums often draw inspiration from current political situations. He suggested that the timing might be right for a new chapter in the series.

“Oh, there’s definitely some keys left, but you have to see that the ‘Keeper Of The Seven Keys’ is very much depending on the political situation,” Deris said. “If I would have to write a song or an album now, I would definitely [draw inspiration from] the political [situation that we have now].”

He elaborated on how current world events could influence the band’s creative direction.

“We have a lot of bullshit going on. So, yeah, it would be the right time now,” he continued. “Unfortunately — or fortunately — we already have [a new] album out. But take ‘The Legacy’ — ‘The Legacy’ was, actually, [lyrically inspired by] the Iraq War… ‘The Legacy’ was a political album. And [the song] ‘The King For A 1000 Years’ is the main leader of that political thing we wanted to say.”

Deris emphasized the band’s approach to addressing real-world issues through their fantasy-themed concept albums.

“Certainly you never hear any words or names, but it’s all in the ‘keeper’ world,” he explained. “When you read through the lyrics, it’s pretty much clear to everybody what the whole song is about, without naming certain people. Yeah, it was very important for us back in the day.”

The singer highlighted how this creative approach allows the band to comment on contemporary issues while maintaining their fantasy framework.

“We have that luxury that everything that goes down in the real world, we can actually pack it into a fantasy world without being fingerpointing with names,” Deris said. “You don’t have to say it, but it’s still in there. Everybody who reads it knows what’s going on.”

He concluded with a direct acknowledgment of the potential for a fourth installment: “It would be a good time for part four. That’s true.”

Deris’s comments come at a particularly active time for the German power metal legends. They continue to build upon their extensive legacy while exploring new creative territories.

Blabbermouth reported that Helloween released their album “Giants & Monsters” in August 2025 via Reigning Phoenix Music. The album was described as their most versatile and dynamic release. The band is currently supporting the album with their 40 Years Anniversary Tour. The tour includes a North American leg scheduled for spring 2026.

The ‘Keeper Of The Seven Keys’ saga holds a special place in metal history and has evolved significantly since its inception. Napalm Records noted that the saga now comprises four parts: the original Part I (1987) and Part II (1988), which were originally planned as a double album, followed by The Legacy (2005) as a direct sequel, and the live album Keeper of the Seven Keys – The Legacy World Tour (2007). The enduring popularity of the series was further demonstrated when 2024 remastered CD reissues of Parts I and II were released on July 26, 2024.

Deris has been an integral part of Helloween’s evolution and the Keeper saga’s continuation. Wikipedia documented that Andi Deris has served as Helloween’s lead vocalist since 1994 and was featured on The Legacy (2005) as part of the Keeper saga. He continues to perform in the current seven-member lineup alongside returning members Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen, as featured on the 2021 self-titled album and recent releases.

The potential for a fourth studio installment in the Keeper saga represents not just a continuation of Helloween’s most celebrated concept but also an opportunity for the band to address contemporary global issues through their established fantasy framework. With the band’s current creative momentum and Deris’s acknowledgment that the timing feels right, fans may not have to wait much longer to discover what new keys the German metal masters have in store.
