Heart band members discovered that two irreplaceable instruments were stolen from the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City on the eve of their highly anticipated tour launch. The announcement was shared on Nancy Wilson’s Instagram.
The band released an official statement detailing the theft and describing the stolen instruments.
“On the eve of our highly anticipated tour launch at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, members of the legendary rock band Heart were devastated to discover that two irreplaceable instruments were stolen from the venue, where gear had been set up the day prior to the show,” the statement read.
The band provided specific details about the missing instruments and offered a reward for their return.
“Among the missing items is a custom-built, one-of-a-kind purple sparkle baritone Telecaster with a hand-painted headstock, crafted specifically for Nancy Wilson,” the statement continued. “Also taken was a vintage 1966 Gibson EM-50 mandolin that band member Paul Moak has played for over 25 years.”
“A reward is being offered for any information leading to their return. Anyone with knowledge of the theft or whereabouts of the instruments is urged to come forward.”
Nancy Wilson also shared a personal message expressing the emotional significance of the stolen instruments.
“These instruments are more than just tools of our trade — they’re extensions of our musical souls,” Wilson said. “The baritone Tele was made uniquely for me, and Paul’s mandolin has been with him for decades. We’re heartbroken, and we’re asking for their safe return — no questions asked. Their value to us is immeasurable.”
This incident highlights ongoing security challenges at entertainment venues. Enhanced safety protocols have been implemented across the industry.
Hard Rock Atlantic City’s official website revealed that the venue has implemented a comprehensive “Safe + Sound” program that emphasizes cleanliness and security through frequent disinfection and the use of hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the property. The program was designed to ensure guest safety and maintain high security standards across all areas of the casino and hotel complex.
However, security incidents have been reported at the venue in recent months. TripAdvisor reviews documented reports of car break-ins in the VIP garage parking area. This indicates that security challenges extend beyond the main venue areas. These incidents suggest that even with enhanced protocols, venues continue to face security vulnerabilities.
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City maintains strict access controls as part of its security measures. The venue’s policies state that guests must be 21 or older to enter most areas unless they have specific hotel or restaurant reservations. This age restriction is part of broader security protocols designed to control access and monitor who enters different sections of the property.
The theft occurred just before Heart’s tour was set to begin at the Atlantic City venue. This adds to the band’s disappointment and highlights the vulnerability of valuable equipment even in secured entertainment facilities.
