Guns N’ Roses has officially announced their long-time drummer Frank Ferrer’s departure through a statement on their X (formerly Twitter) account.

“Guns N’ Roses announce the amicable exit of Frank Ferrer,” the band stated. “The band thanks Frank for his friendship, creativity and sturdy presence over the past 19 years, and wish him success in the next chapter of his musical journey.”

“Frank first joined GNR during a show in June 2006 helping anchor the rhythm section during subsequent tours, including their recent outings featuring the reunited trio of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan,” the announcement continued. “His last show with the band took place November 5, 2023 in Mexico.”

Ferrer’s departure marks the end of his nearly two-decade tenure with the band. His time included the significant reunion period featuring the classic lineup members.

The band’s personnel change arrives just before their upcoming tour schedule.

Consequence revealed the band will launch their 2025 tour on May 1 in Incheon, South Korea. The extensive international run will cover Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

MetalSucks reported the tour’s final stop will be a headline performance at Germany’s Wacken Open Air festival on July 31. This appearance stands as one of the band’s most significant European shows in recent years.

Loudwire highlighted several potential replacements from the band’s past. Former drummers Matt Sorum and Bryan ‘Brain’ Mantia, both with extensive history with the band, are among the speculated candidates.

Ferrer’s impact on the band’s sound remained consistent through various lineup changes. He played a vital role during the ‘Not In This Lifetime’ reunion tour. The tour went on to become one of the highest-grossing tours in music history.
