Blabbermouth reports that former Dokken guitarist George Lynch has revealed innovative plans for a new musical project following Lynch Mob’s conclusion.
The guitarist has outlined his vision for a new musical venture. This project will feature a dynamic approach to band membership.
“Well, Lynch Mob did its last show March 22nd, earlier this year. And so that’s it for touring for Lynch Mob,” Lynch said. “So I have another entity partially put together, which will probably be a revolving door of different people. But right now I’m just tentatively calling it George Lynch & The Mob, so people can identify with my name and the fact that there’s still the LYNCH MOB aspect to that name without the bad connotations.”
The new project signals a significant shift in Lynch’s approach to band formation. It suggests a more flexible and contemporary model for future performances.
This transition arrives at a meaningful time in Lynch’s career. His previous band has just concluded a significant chapter in rock history.
Records from Wikipedia show that Lynch Mob formed in 1989. George Lynch remained the sole constant member throughout its extensive history. This precedent laid the groundwork for his new flexible lineup approach.
“The Final Ride” farewell tour marked the band’s final chapter. The tour celebrated an impressive 35-year legacy. Blabbermouth documented the tour’s notable performances across various venues, including a memorable appearance on the Monsters of Rock Cruise.
Lynch Mob’s conclusion and this new project represent a strategic evolution in Lynch’s musical journey. He adapts to modern touring and performance demands while maintaining his established musical identity.
This innovative approach to band formation may set a new precedent. It shows veteran musicians how to continue their careers while adapting to the music industry’s changing landscape.
