Kiss’ Gene Simmons sat down with Artists On Record to discuss the legacy of his band. During the interview, the rocker mentioned the new beginning of Kiss that will come with its ending. He explained:

“Part of the fun of Christmas is you open your present, you’re shocked, you’re surprised, and hopefully delighted. So what would I tell you in February what you’re gonna get for Christmas? There is so much hard work being done behind the scenes, and what I’ve seen will blow your mind. So in a very real way, our end is really like the caterpillar becoming the butterfly. The end is the beginning. You can’t make us go away. The touring band has stopped touring, Kiss the touring band.”

Stanley Does Not Want To Replicate Kiss

In December 2023, Kiss came to an end. After they announced retirement, the band made a new statement about making shows with avatars to let the band’s legacy remain.

With the end of Kiss, Paul Stanley focused on a different field than music. Despite the upcoming avatar shows and his interest in painting that keeps him busy, Stanley does not want to do anything that replicates his band. He explained in an earlier interview:

“I don’t want to try to replicate Kiss. That is what it is. And it’s so special and unique that it can only fail. If the idea is to duplicate that, that doesn’t have any appeal to me. I guess I would have to figure, what does appeal to me? That’s still up in the air. Certainly, at this point — and it always has been the case — it has to come down to, what makes me happy? If it doesn’t make me happy, the happiness it might bring somebody else is going to be hollow for me.”
